OK, I promise this post isn’t a devotional, but there are some heavy spiritual ramifications of this event I’m about to share with you.
It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball. (That’s nothing special. I’m getting to it…) And I know it’s way too early to make any kind of predictions how the season will go, but many of you won’t believe what I am about to tell you.
Going into the bottom of the 7th inning of the first game of the season, guess who is batting .667 with a double, 2 RBIs and 1 (miracles-never-cease) home run??!!
(Are you sitting down?) It is our former Seattle Mariner fave, Jeff Cirillo!!!

I’m not making this up. This is no belated April fool’s joke. It’s the real deal…
Is this a hopeful sign of things to come? Is it possible he’s gotten his swing back? For those few of you who know what the heck I’m talking about, I have this question: Is there finally hope for us too? Are we moving out of our "slump"? If Jeff has gotten his swing back, maybe our community is not far behind…
I’m truly ecstatic! (And over something so seemingly ridiculous…amazing!)
