I just watched this movie again to verify whether or not it was as bad as I remembered it. Excluding the cool fights with Darth Maul, I think I gave the movie a higher (last place) ranking than I probably should have. Here are five honorary Star Wars features that were 1.) better than the Phantom Menace and, 2.) could have just as conveniently been melded into the storyline (thus changing the movie’s rank to 12th in my list.)

7. Spaceballs ("I’m my own best friend.")
8. Pigs in Space (It can be argued that The Muppet pigs were more engaging, feasible, and entertaining than this movie was!)
9. Buck Rogers – Any random episode (Wasn’t there a robot in this TV show named Twinkie or Twiggie or something?)
10. Dune (If it was up to David Lynch, Jar-Jar would have mysteriously disappeared within the first few scenes…)
11. To Kill A Mockingbird (Atticus, Annakin…ah, who cares? And does it creep anyone else out that Padme is putting the moves on an 8 year old?)
