This is what I looked like 10 minutes after I got my haircut in a Thai barber shop. For a haircut, shampoo, and "style" it cost me roughly $3.75 USD. Hey, I tipped good. Bumped it up to $5.00.
Not bad, not bad at all. I couldn’t bear to tell the guy that I didn’t want the American Idol "Host" hair dew. I took it like a man. I just let him go for the symmetry he was after (i.e. notice how the hair points on top and the chin now in total harmony.) The hair gel was a bit too concrete for my liking however.
He asked me if I wanted a manicure, but I politely declined.
The best part was when he stopped cutting my hair when a friend drove up on his motorcycle. He went and greeted his biker friend, gathered his wife (sister?) who was also cutting someone’s hair, and proceeded to have group pictures taken. When he returned to cutting my hair, he apologized profusely and told me that was a former teacher of his. Of course, I said to him.
Of course.
