The power in our hotel was out this morning. I heard voices in the room next door very early. Christa rolled out of bed and opened the curtains in our room.
"Todd! Quick, you have to come see this…"
The only other frame of reference I have for such a statement is when a fresh infrequent snow had fallen on the suburbs of Seattle.
–It snowed? It actually snowed?? Impossible…
When I awoke and looked outside, I realized that we are, indeed, in Asia. The streets for as far as the eye can see were (and are) completely flooded. (Not that that couldn’t happen anywhere!)
Crazy though! Especially after the information in my last post.
We are all safe and we had breakfast in our hotel lobby. There was no power, but somehow there was hot coffee, cold cereal, juice, fruit, etc.
This just in: We just found out we are INDEED moving hotels. This hotel’s generator was in the basement and it is flooded out. They do not believe they will be able to sort it out for three days. We will be moving to "higher ground" as it seems there are areas of the city that are NOT flooded. We will let you know where we end up and how it all pans out! God is good and has already mentally prepared us for this…amazing…
Please pray it will not continue to rain AND that we will make it safely to our new hotel…WITH all of our belongings (if possible). Thanks…we’ll keep you posted…
