We fly tomorrow.
I wish I could say that we would be in our new city at the end of the day, but we actually have an overnight layover before we arrive in our new city on Monday.
Yes, more pushing/pulling of luggage carts!
I am not sure where we will be living. We’ll be hunting for apartments upon arrival. Our friends in the city have already scoped out a few options for us.
I am not sure what type of internet capabilities we will have, but I’m told that there is DSL in our city.
I am not sure when I will be online again. This next week we have quite a detailed schedule of events: opening bank accounts, shopping for furniture, finding a suitable apartment, shopping for home appliances, getting enrolled in language school, finding out where to shop for food, meeting new associates, learning how the bus system works, etc. Plus, I have to finish the new Harry Potter. Priorities, priorities.
I am not certain that Blogger will be available to me. That sounds weird, huh? Not available. A friend from a different city in this country told me that some websites were not available through the servers he must use through his ISP. I can’t imagaine that. I know I will still be able to blog, but I may have to use a different tool. If the yetispeak changes locations (a very big IF), I’ll have a friend login to Blogger and post the new spot. I don’t think I will be forced to to take such measures however, thanks to our new friend globalization.
I am not sure what the coffee will be like in our city. That’s of the utmost importance to me.
I have never set foot in this country we are about to make our home in. We are a dying breed.
There are many unknowns in the days ahead. The yeti and family are so excited to be at this stage of the game though. We’re ready to settle ourselves and stop this nomadic nonsense for a season. We’ve got a lot to learn and hopefully our humor will remain intact through the process.
I just wanted to use this post as conclusion and introduction. I’m concluding a pretty long and satisfying chapter of my life and I’m providing an introduction (hopefully) to a longer epic.
If you don’t see my head pop out of the cave for a few days…don’t despair. I’m just winding down on a few long years of transition. This is where it gets interesting. This is the point where soul artists are born. So it begins…
