And I must say it feels like Christmas. We had some friends ship us some of our books after we left the U.S. but a few weeks before we arrived here in Xining. Much to our pleasure the shipment showed up at our home yesterday. Here’s a few related statistics:

• Total number of books = unknown
• Total weight of Johnsons’ three M(edia) bags = 144 pounds
• Total cost to ship from Seattle to Xining = $144 (that’s right $1/pound)
• Total time to ship = Roughly 43 days (they were shipped on August 13th and they arrived on Friday or Saturday of this past week.)
• Total distance packages travelled = unknown
• Total days books were perused by Tibetan yak herders = roughly 2.5

Now we’re just waiting on the five Rubbermaid tubs that we also had shipped to us…
