Well, contrary to wisdom perhaps we decided to be good neighbors and allow our 2nd floor neighbors access to our bathroom. They were convinced that "our leak" was causing damage to their apartment. I think they were probably right, but this whole complex has bad plumbing. The agreement was that we would allow them to tear up our tiles and seal (fix?) any leaks they found. They would then repair and retile our floor WITHOUT breaking any cabinetry, toilet, bathtub, etc. I took pictures with my digital camera so that we could have evidence whether or not they live up to this agreement. Since they agreed to pay for this work (and since I was fairly certain they would never leave us alone again until they felt satisfied with some solution) we decided it’s better to get ALL (or enough) of this stuff done now rather than waiting 6 months or something…
There was a lot of water under the tiles and within the concrete. My only fear is that the leak will not be identified and fixed before they lay the new concrete/tile.
Since we spent the morning overseeing this little project, we decided in the afternoon to head out to the People’s Park. There are pictures below.
