Here’s a conversation I had with Anna today…

Anna: [Says something she would describe as amazing which I mostly miss…]

Me:  [Feigning amazement] Are you s-e-r-i-o-u-s, Anna?

Anna:  I’m as serious as a stomach virus, my friend.

Me: [Laughing in true amazement this time.]  Where did you hear that?

Anna: [Matter of fact] From The Pond.  (The Pond is a Christian cartoon we have on DVD.)

When did the cartoons become so sophisticated.  By five she’ll be more sarcastic than her father.  Lord, help us!
