Thanksgiving…American style

As you can see from this picture, Anna was ready to chow on some turkey.  She was not disappointed.  We had a great Thanksgiving feast and had a lot to be grateful for.

We had our celebration at our teammates’ home on the west side of the city.  After all the feasting, we played some games until late into the evening.  I introduced a small group of folks to the game Cranium.  Christa introduced some others to Trivial Pursuit – Pop Culture.  It’s a good thing most of the people in attendance were Americans, although some of the Cranium participants were from other countries which made it interesting.  (My Australian buddy Stuart did an awesome James Brown impersonation!)

The only missing element for me (besides having family there) was the conspicuous absence of candied sweet potatoes (or yams).  There was really no excuse for this since sweet potatoes are available here (and you can purchase brown sugar and marshmallows.)  If only I would have known, I would have attempted to make them myself.  Oh well, everything else was very good and very Thankgiving-ish.  It made it seem a little more like "home".

I just want all of you to know that I am grateful for you… Hope you enjoyed this time to reflect upon the abundance we are blessed with.
