(ignorance -shown right, want -shown left)

Do you remember in A Christmas Carol when the Ghost of Christmas Present reveals the two "children" of the world who embody Ignorance and Want.  (It’s a very disturbing part of the story for me and it kind of gives me the heebie-jeebies.)

Well, for some reason this picture reminded me of those little despondent ones (although I think in the book one of the kids was a boy.)  This picture is a bit more comic rather than foreboding, however.
