I recently purchased a sub-standard DVD version of Peter Jackson’s latest, King Kong. I haven’t watched the Hollywood blockbuster just yet, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy the movie. Especially, after reading the critic’s praise on the back of the film. (Remember this is a Chinese product.)
Allegedly, Sean Burns of the Philadelphia Weekly had this to say about King Kong:
"It wasn’t beauty killed the beast…it was bloat."
Somehow, I don’t think that’s exactly what Mr. Burns said about the movie:
I just noticed the fine print on the movie as well. I’m pretty sure this harsh critique is about another movie entirely…
Here’s what it says:
Running Time.Film:.What the hell is everybody thinking The zombies all look the same. The special effects aren’t very. The aectting is terrible. Romero fails. Licensing le consumerism. How can this be a classic? Now the start of the movie is just boring and pointless. Dozens of people in a news studio are just yelling radio or TV broadcasting. People are turning into zombies all around the wor about nothing but his ratings. Just stupid.
