Some days I could kick myself for not carrying my camera with me 24/7. This morning around 9 a.m. I was on a local city bus minding my own business and listening to my I-pod.

Across the aisle from me was a young lady dressed in standard black business attire. I try not to stare at people too much (although it would only be fair with the amount of staring that I get) but I happened to notice that this sharply dressed lady was snacking…on something.

Usually when you see someone sucking on something (in my cultural background) you think sucker, ice cream, popsickle, and things of that variety. But this lady was sucking on something else. She was savoring a scrumptious chicken foot!

It shocked me…and that’s getting harder and harder to do. After licking the outside of the chicken foot she proceeded to nibble on it for a while toe by toe (?). What really grossed me out about it was that she must have hit a few fatty pieces because she would periodically pull brownish pieces out of her mouth AND TOSS THEM ON THE FLOOR OF THE BUS!  Sick.

Anyway, in case you need a visual…the chicken feet looked something like this. (I know someone is inevitably going to comment about how they just love to eat chicken feet, but you have to admit that if you’re from America it’s still a bit strange to see someone nibbling on Foghorn Leghorn’s leg on a public bus before most people have even had their first latte.)

p.s. the weird post title is taken from certain song lyrics.  Wouldn’t expect most of you to know that, but there’s a few of you weirdos like me out there.
