I had an idea for a post today that I really wanted to work on, but then I realized a few important things:
- The last few weeks have been almost-total-chaos busy for me. With the start of school; preparing for two Sunday sessions in a row (lifting and teaching); planning out Christa’s b-day; the onset of Easter; going through language assessments with our company this past week; planning a two hour speech for this Saturday; managing an already floundering fantasy baseball team; planning for another teaching session for this Sunday (who signed me up for all these? oh yeah, it was me…); and all the other odds and ends of family life…I’ve barely had a chance to remember to breathe.
- A growing pile of photos that had slowly mounted due to the activity outlined in #1.
- I’m tired and it was raining. It was so amazing to walk in the misty rain today. I can’t believe how much I’ve missed it. I almost forgot where I was for a second…and then quickly remembered when I almost got squashed by a half-truck-half-motorcycle transformer looking monstrosity. Oh yeah…still in Xining.
- I hadn’t been emailing. All of a sudden replying to emails seemed like a novel concept instead of a way of life. (I’m not saying I actually did this, i.e. send email responses back to people, but the thought occurred to me…)
Anyway, I have decided that my original post idea can wait. It’s about making decisions after all. And I’ve made one: to distract you with intriguing pictures. (If you’re into looking at these things chronologically, scroll to the bottom and work your way up.)
