Today is a lazy day. The sun is shining. The one tree (in our complex) that sits outside our kitchen window has green leaves now. Anna and I spent a few minutes watching two little birds that were perched in its branches. Classes start up again tomorrow so Christa and I are cracking the books again…
Oh yeah, Christa and Anna got back from their trip yesterday. They had a good time in the "country" visiting friends. I guess Jianca is a very beautiful place. Green forests, scenic mountains, rivers, etc. Pictures will follow later this week.
Other than that, not a lot is going on here. I’ve been racking my brain for topics to blog about this weekend. My fantasy baseball team is ma-ma-hu-hu (which means so-so in Mandarin. Its literal meaning is horse-horse-tiger-tiger which I think is hilarious in its absurdity…but I digress.)
Since I don’t have any news, I guess I’ll share some of my family and friends news…
Congratulations to my younger sister, Nicole! She just got her first full-time gig as a patient care assistant (PCA) at Virginia Hospital Center in the D.C. area. She’s on her way to being an RN and has been studying like mad the past few years to accomplish this (with four kids mind you!) Here’s a picture of her scholarship awards banquet below (she’s the one holding the bouquet). Hopefully, I got the details right?
Congratulations also goes out to my good friend Schoof and his wife Laura on the birth of their first baby boy! Here’s a picture of Robert Lee Scheufler IV ("Bo") who was born on May 1st. (I would have added an E to his name after Robert, but I guess that would ruin the "fourth" thing…) Bobby, hope you guys are doing well and don’t mind me publicizing your son’s cute photo…
Happy belated Birthday to my friend, Brent. Sorry, I couldn’t be there to celebrate with you (are you 30 yet?) Do you want me to send you a yak-skin suit or something? I don’t know what to get you on this side of the world? Hope you had a good day, brutha.
