Many years ago, I once heard this guy, Kent Hovind, giving a talk on creation science. At the time, what he said made a lot of sense to me. It seemed he really knew the Word and seemed to know a lot about science, too. But, then again, science is not my strong point…
Turns out Kent Hovind is a man with very strange ideas (as evidenced in the links I’ve provided below) and is currently getting into a lot of trouble with the U.S. government. If these stories can be believed (and I think they could be verified easily) he’s about to wind up behind bars for tax evasion.
Here’s the story about the allegations.
Here’s the story about the court proceedings.
I know there are two sides to every story and that the media delights in raking Christians over the coals, but the way Hovind is going about this whole thing is quite embarrassing. And what in the world did he mean when he asked to "plead subornation of false muster"? Is subornation even a real word?
Ugh.
