Today was a day of rest.  I tried not to think about blog topics at all (I kept telling myself, "No funny anecdotes, no colorful insights into culture, no Seinfeld-like ‘what’s-that-all-about’ type questions…") …and then right at the end of the day I blew it!

I thought of these cute pictures and I just had to post them.

This first one I call SMUG for obvious reasons.  Just check out those grins.  What do you think they’re up to?  Or is it just that they’re so happy to be posing with these butterflies?

This second picture I call Rubbing it In.  It’s just plain cruel to send me pictures from Safeco field.  I didn’t even get to take Anna to her very first baseball game.  But, man, check out that cutie in the light green (or is it yellow?) shirt!  I feel like a sailor who has been away at sea a little too long!  Not long now and the family will all be back on the same continent.  Just in the nick of time, too.  I was about to start a friendship with a bloody volleyball named Wilson.  (If you haven’t seen it rent Cast Away to understand that reference…)
