something really weird…

·

While riding in a taxi-cab in Xining today I thought of a very odd thing.  You won’t believe this strange revelation.  OK, here goes:

Nothing in Xining has seemed overly WEIRD lately.

That’s right.  No chicken-feet eating commutersNo Chrysler LeBaron driving Xining nativesNo Joe-Pesci-like Tibetans inviting me to eat breakfast with them.

It’s just ho-hum, schools-out-for-summer, business-as-usual, dusty-warm weather, plain-old Xining.  I am very frightened by this.  The fact that Xining does not seem out-of-the-ordinary anymore is VERY STRANGE!  Perhaps, I am acclimating…scary.

Here’s a picture of a walk-by "mooning".  I barely even flinch at the Chinese split-pants anymore…

  1. I’m surprised the “split pants” haven’t caught on yet here in the States. Think of the time this would save during your average day.

  2. kathy and i are starting a new trend. The Split Pants trend. Watch! it will be popular in the U.S. by next month!

  3. you people are scaring me.

people would get (and probably already do get) arrested in the states for even toying with the idea of wearing split pants!

but yes, it would be a great time-saver…and very cool in those balmy southern states.
