Contrary to appearances, this post is not another shameless plug for my recently published book, Titan’s Tale. But I did want to make a few "editorial" comments (before archiving the topic…)
#1 – Now that I have seen the "finished product" I must say that there is nothing that feels more like vanity than perusing a copy of your own self-published work of fiction (esp. when your very own mug is prominently displayed on the back.) I’m just glad my mom appreciated it so much (and hopefully others will appreciate it as well.) I do admit it feels cool in a narcisstic sort of way. I made this.
#2 – If you are one of the 23 some-odd folks who actually have a copy of this book, I must sincerely apologize for a few editing / formatting mistakes. The outer/inner margins on the pages are not really wide enough so (I think) the text tends to run into the spine of the book at times. It’s not so easy to read. I’ll try to correct this if I decide to create a revised version in the future. (If you own one of the first editions, than you really are owed an apology. The formatting for the first few books was pretty terrible! I’m blaming the Muse for that one. He was running into a time-crunch.)
Also, in the copy I have the first page reads: Translated from the original Norweegalandic by.
This is a mistake. Please take out a pen and correct this sentence as follows:
Translated from the original D
Norweegalandic by.
It should read Dorweegalandic. (Please strike from your copy of the book any reference to Norweegalandic. Puh-lease, everybody knows there isn’t such a thing! Sounds ridiculous.) Unfortunately this book was edited in part by an unemployed group of dyslexic penguins. In Greenland, staffing issues abound.
#3 – If you live in Qinghai, there are now two copies (on-loan) available for your reading enjoyment. (You may have to fight my wife for one of them if she finishes up whatever she’s currently reading any time soon.)
#4 – Thanks to any and all who are/were interested in this project. I think actually doing it (printing a book for mass consumption) has motivated me to continue work on current projects. We’ll see how it goes…
Anyway, if nothing else, at least this has been a nice cure for insomnia.
