Update (10.23.06):
Christa arrived safely in Hong Kong (with no hitches). She will have her first doctor’s appointment this morninig at 10 (about two hours from now.) Thanks for keeping her / us covered in prayer.
Prayer requested!
Not to alarm anyone, but I have a prayer need I’d like to make known. Last week Christa started experiencing a pain in her lower abdominal / pelvic area. The pain didn’t go away and has gotten worse over the weekend. After going through many tests, consulting with various doctors, and having an ultrasound here in Xining, we are no further along in getting a good diagnosis for what is going on?? (Although we do know it seems "somehow related to her female organs" thanks to the braintrust up here in the Xining medical community!)
Our company has a doctor in Chengdu whom we have been consulting through this process. (Thankfully, this does not seem to be related to Christa’s appendix.)
But our company doctor has recommended that Christa go to Hong Kong to a more capable facility in order to get a good diagnosis and treatment. Our evacuation insurance will cover the air travel cost for this and we have teammates in Hong Kong whom Christa plans to stay with.
She will be flying by herself to Shenzhen (which is very close to Hong Kong) this evening at around 5 p.m. I will be here with the girls. We’re not sure how long this will take or what the results will be. Obviously, this is a stressful situation for everyone. We appreciate your prayers as we know He is capable of handling this situation and staying close to us in the process. We’ll keep you up to date on what happens…
Thanks so much.
