Well, it’s been great starting 2007 on the right foot.  The right foot being: while on VACATION!

With the help of an abundance of frequent flyer miles we were able to go back to Florida to visit my parents AND to visit the Magic Kingdom.  If you remember, we promised Anna that we would take her to Disney World / Land if she stopped sucking her thumb…AND SHE DID!  She kicked the habit much quicker than we anticipated.

The girls were very excited about Disney World.  In the shuttle on the way to the Magic Kingdom, Anna kept telling me, "We’re getting closer, Daddy!"  Sarah was a little overwhelmed with it all, but enjoyed Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood play area quite a bit.  It didn’t help that the first ride we took Sarah on was Snow White’s Scary Adventure.  I didn’t realize the emphasis was on the word SCARY.  Needless to say, we traumatized her right out of the gate.

Meanwhile, Anna wanted to ride and do everything.  She especially enjoyed the Peter Pan ride and Thunder Mountain.  Meeting the Disney Princesses, in person, was the ultimate experience though.

I was a bit upset that the park had demolished Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in favor of newer adaptations, but I didn’t mind the Jack Sparrow modifications on The Pirates of the Caribbean.
