survivors of the “bua” virus

·

Well, we Johnsons (and Wolverine’s parents) survived the "bug" of Suan Bua.  It was a good week of encouragement (other than the sickness) and warm-sun style refreshment.  We’re now back in Bangkok (which is also quite warm) having completed flight #12 today of the 14 flights that made up this two month odyssey taking us from Xining to the States to Thailand and finally back to Xining again.  Good grief, Charlie Brown

Tomorrow we’ll be in Beijing.

We have some assorted pictures that I need to put into an album from our time in Thailand, but I’ll save that for another day.

Here’s one picture of a pretty gruesome spider that was hanging out at Suan Bua.  You can’t tell from this picture, but this critter is actually bigger than my outstretched hand!  With the mosquitoes, frogs, snakes, and bats, I’m kind of glad this isn’t the place I call home.  I’ll take on yaks any day…

  1. glad you guys are ALMOST home, it sounds VERY tiring. xoxo much love to you and Christa, Anna, and Sarah. I hope your own bed feels GREAT!

  2. Hi. I was searching the net for some info about the bug that was going on at Suan Bua.
My group was at the same resort when your group was there. We were the EAG SIL group there from 2/12-2/23/07 and we too had a lot of sickness. We also had problems with some actual bug biting us. It wasn’t mosquitos- you know what they might have been? Very itch!!
