getting personal

·

"When we embrace our unique place in creation, when we believe that God has created us to create, it begins to change everything for us.  It not only empowers us to live, but it holds us responsible for life.  Not only our lives, but the lives of everyone we could affect for good."
Erwin Raphael McManus, Soul Cravings

At times I write about very personal things and I think about posting my thoughts on my blog…and then I think, "No, I shouldn’t."  The internal arguments go like this:  It’s just too personal.  People won’t relate to it.  People don’t want to read my diary.  It puts me in a place of real vulnerability–potentially awkwardness.

It’s a bit like wearing your heart on your sleeve for the world to see.  And that makes me nervous.

But sometimes I see what I’m doing (with writing) as worship.  It’s sharing my journey of faith with others.  It’s like inviting them (YOU) in… I see that as important (in whatever humble format it takes.) I learn from others experiences, so I don’t want to be stingy with mine.  So vulnerability and brokenness are OK (even if they are visible to strangers out there on the Internet.)

Recently, I experienced what I would call a spiritual breakthrough.  It came unexpectedly and powerfully.  I tried to describe this experience using words (in Word!)  I am not sure if it came across as vividly as I experienced it–the mystical realities rarely do.  But I tried my best to pinpoint what my Papa was telling me and showing me about His love for me.

I was not concerned with my prose, grammar, etc. so you’ll have to wade through the raw form.  I just wrote from the heart in order to somehow capture the revelation.  This was truly an eye-opening experience for me and I hope you are encouraged by what the Lord was revealing to me…it is the same message to you (esp. if you are significance-junkies like me.)  I thought I should be a good steward and share the goodness of our God with you.

If you don’t want to wade through the lengthy document, that’s OK, too. I just wanted to make it available.  We are all uniquely loved.
