countdown to thailand – 15 days

·

As the thermometer outside bottoms out and the frost builds up on the windows of the apartment I have one brilliant inclination: it is called hibernation.  I mean, why shouldn’t we mimic the natural world?  But since sleeping for 4 or 5 months straight to wait out the frigid winter is not a very viable option, migration seems to be the next best thing!

For the first time in our 2.5 years overseas, I’m actually counting down the days to Thailand!  Oh yes; warmth, sand, sunshine, mango drinks, swimming, and relaxation.  Not to mention conferences, immunizations, dental visits, and western food.  It’s always a real grab bag, but this time around I’m ready for it.  Really ready for it.

While anxiously awaiting the upcoming migration, here are a few China photos taken at the Sichuan Opera that Christa and Marie enjoyed this past weekend in Chengdu…

  1. I guess it snowed in Seattle last night. Schools in Northshore are running late today. And here in So. Cal. sunny and warm, windows open. We really live in a great big world. Hope Thailand brings you much refreshment…

  2. Great pictures! I hope to connect with Christa soon to hear more. Love you all!
