Suffice it to say we’re here at the beach in Prachuap, Thailand…and IT (pause) IS (pause)… AWESOME! (That was a Chris Farley "awesome" by the way–god rest his soul.)
Our second story bungalow apartment overlooks the blue sparkling hues of the pool and (more importantly) the Gulf of Thailand which sits a mere 30 yards away. All night long the sound of the waves crashing against the shore accompanied my sleep. A steady warm wind drifted through the windows keeping the humidity off of us.
All day long I kept dousing myself in sunblock #35 and already my nose looks like the color of a cherry-tomato. The girls (A & S) have been in their own idea of heaven with both beach and pool right in their backyard. Christa enjoyed swimming in the surf today (the water was warm) and reading a good book on the beach. Plus, all the meals get cooked and cleaned by people other than US, there is laundry service, internet, ice cream, a trampoline, play areas, a movie selection, bikes we can use…etcetera
Yes, this is a real vacation! So why the heck am I blogging about it?
You got me.
But I couldn’t be bothered to bring the usb cord for the digital camera. Left that back in the room. So I guess you’ll just have to wait for the initial photos until I’m good and ready to post them.
P.S. For those of you "in-the-know" regarding such minutia, we submitted our passport applications to the embassy in Bangkok on Thursday. We should be able to pick up the NEW passports (Todd/Anna) in two weeks. So, barring complications, the Singapore visit will be a "a go"… Thanks for lifting that up. Keep up the good work, folks…
Surf’s up.
