It is not the best (or most romantic) way to spend Valentine’s Day, I know. Christa is in Chiang Mai with Sarah. I’m in Bangkok with Anna.
Our first wonderful week in Thailand was spent at the beach. Our second week was spent at our company conference at a resort just outside of Chiang Mai. It’s been really nice soaking up the rays, having some good “training” and fellowship times, and fattening ourselves up at the many buffet tables that Thailand has to offer. It’s hard to believe I was wearing thermal underwear and still getting numb just a short three weeks ago! It was also very exciting to hear what’s been going on in the Big Country where we’ve been living the past 2.5 years.
The worst part about being at the resort (for me) was that our internet access was so poor! Sorry for the lack of posts. The internet connection was so slow out there I literally could not access the world wide web.
This afternoon Anna and I bolted from the conference a bit early and took the 50-minute flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok.
The agenda for the weekend…
Anna and I will go to the U.S. Embassy tomorrow to pick up our new passports (Hayseuss willing of course). We really need for this to go off without a hitch because the Embassy will be closed for three days due to the weekend and pesky President’s day.
Dentist visits at the international hospital. In my opinion all hospitals should have a Starbucks and McDonalds in the lobby just like the international hospital here in Bangkok does. Who says that human ailments need to be caffeine and calorie free?
Christa and Sarah fly in and join us on Saturday evening.
We all (Hayseuss willing) head on to Singapore on Monday. And as of today just two more flights before we head back into China. That’s what I always tend to appreciate checking off our itinerary the most. Flights accomplished! Hopefully I’ll be writing a bit more regularly now that I can access my site again.
Happy V-day, everyone!
