summertime!

We've been a bit too busy for such trivial things as blogging, but here's a brief update and a photo album.

Anna finished her two-week trial at the local kindergarten.  Her teachers (of course) loved her and had many positive things to say about her.  They described her as being a "role model" in the classroom even though she had only been there a short time.  They said she was pretty advanced in terms of reading and math, was very sweet and friendly, and when given elective options would always choose the Reading Corner.  Imagine that?

Last week some friends from Montana (family of 5) came out and stayed with us for the week.  We hit all the Seattle hotspots and wore the kids out (or vice versa) every day with FUN activities.

The weather "seems" to have turned into more summer-like conditions, but I'm not holding my breath.

We'll be taking our first road trip this weekend and are looking forward to some time at Moses Lake, WA, in Idaho and Montana.

Here's a photo album of our outings last week.

  1. Loved your tour of Seattle. I did squirm on the cockroach shot though. Yuk!

  2. Where is the explanation on the “punk rocker” in the Troll photo? I can’t wait to hear…

  3. Man I wish we were there doing the Seattle fun activities together! Loved the family pic at Kerry Park. That might have to go on our fridge…

  4. shoof: the punk rock guy was one of a band of 4 guys there shooting a very low-budget rock video. as a courtesy the band informed me that our children would be in the video in the background if we hung around for a while (which we did). we weren’t sure if the video was serious or satire but the guys looked really weird. it was like over-the-hill (where are they now) village people dressing up like clown-punks to do a video. i don’t even know the name of the band or if they play shows anywhere.

amy: yeah, it was beautiful day in seattle. i wish you guys could be here this summer. it’s a lot of fun.

  5. Hi Todd!

Greetings and salivations from the Kingdom of Norway! Hope all is well with you in the US. I’ve intended to write for ages, but our Dell died a while back and we lost most of our e-mail addresses.

Could you send me a short mail so that we get your e-mail address?

As usual, we enjoy your blogg. At the moment I spend a lot of time reading bloggs from around the world. A lot of fun! Your blogg is definitely one of the very best I’ve read and I don’t say that just because we love you guys. If you drop a mail I’ll let you know why I spend so much time reading bloggs.

    All the best
