completed, (but not quite finished)

Yep, just like the message from NaNoWriMo says, "I won!"  (Completing the challenge is wining by the way.)

I crossed the finish-line today by hitting the 50,000 word mark.  I am proud of the accomplishment.  To come up with a story with that many words in one month is very hard–even for a long-winded writer like myself.  Luckily for me I chose to tell my own story (i.e autobiographical) from the past 10 years so I had a lot of material to work with.

The story, sadly, IS NOT finished yet though.  I still have quite a lot to write about before my first draft will be done.  Then the revision process.  Sigh.  But at least I have the bulk of it completed which never would have happened without this month-long goal keeping the carrot in front of my nose.

I feel like a viking now for sure.  Haven't shaved in days.  I missed lunch and breakfast today.  I think I'm going to go plunder some villages now and treat myself to a stein full of ale and a succulent drumstick.  I think I've earned it…
