divide and conquer

This saying (i.e. divide and conquer) is one that I usually apply to times when Christa and I each take one of our daughters and head to our respective corners.  We don’t do this because we are fighting.  We do this because sometimes a one-to-one ratio works better than a two-to-one OR EVEN a two-to-two.  It’s amazing how different it is just taking care of one of the girls for a day without the other parent or sibling factor coming into play.

This morning, Christa and Anna went on an "overnighter" with some of our friends to a village about 3 hours south of here.  So Sarah and I had the day to ourselves.  It was great.  She watched movies (‘The Beast’ as she calls it is one of her favorites right now–as in Beauty and the Beast), we went to the supermarket, we had snacks and played outside, and we even visited the Norwegian neighbors before coming home to hearty bowl of macaroni and cheese.  I’m a great chef like that.

My favorite Sarah saying of the day is one that she obviously ripped off of Anna.  It usually comes after I make a statement of any kind.  She replies with her devilish grin, "That’s not right!"

Miss smartie pants…

Anyway, tomorrow I’ll probably take the little squirt to the museum because outside of it they have these little cars that kids can ride in for a quarter or something.  I told her we might do that and she asked, "Why will we ride in little cars?"

I told her because it’s fun.  Sheesh, aren’t you too young to require reasons for things.

When Christa gets back I have some great pictures from the Chinese wedding she attended this past week.  Since I didn’t go to the wedding I want to make sure she approves of all the captions before I put them out there for you to see…  It was interesting.  She gave a little speech of her own at the grand affair.  Hilarious…

  1. Precious! I love that you and Sarah have had some one-on-one time ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. what a sweet picture of sarah. Sometimes it’s fun to have each child one on one, they seem to listen to you better. And much more calmer.
